Thoughts For The Week

So we go through each week, wondering what to wear and what not to wear. Women, who love their wardrobes, know, picking out an outfit is one of the toughest decisions of the day. Add to that, the need to wear the right footwear, carry the right bag, have those right pair of earrings and to give that grand closing with the perfect brush of make-up. Not an easy task surely!

I have my own take on a week's wardrobe...most of us step out more than once a week atleast and twice to thrice a week, at the most. Jewellery being my thing, here's a peek into my collection...I have assembled some very interesting stones, jewellery and colors for that very boring week ahead :). Enjoy the pictures and remember....this collection is available with me i.e. at "Elizabeth Creations" :).

Keep your Mondays Serene and Peaceful with this calming & soothing neckpiece in shades of green.
Tuesday is the day you start adding color, showing, you are overcoming those Monday blues. Here's an idea with some lovely deep Royal Blue & Rose Quartz pink neckpiece.

Personally, I love Wednesdays. Venture out on this mid day of the week and do it in super-style! Bring in elegnace and class with the conisitent touch of colour with this neckpiece in subtle shades and hues of sea-green blue, navy-blue and browns.

I call them the "throw-back" Thursdays. Put your feet up, let your hair down and sit back and enjoy a chilled out evening as you gear up for the coming weekend as well as the following week. Thursdays are for those special quiet evenings & a movie. A simple line of stones, broken with the serenity of white to give that all comfort and relaxed look through the day and night.

We don't say TGIF for nothing. Fridays, with the swing of TGIF, says it all. Bring back more colours and flaunt your style today. I always feel, this day, is more important than the upcoming weekend. Celebrate this day. Check out the hues of green and blues combined to give a very fun piece for a fun-filled day.

Sinful Saturdays :). Need I say more ;). Whatever you would be doing...don't forget to put on that extra shine in your wardrobe...nothing like hues of wine and pink colors to enjoy your day or even the night-outs. This neckpiece says it all...you just need to wear it and half your battle of putting together a wardrobe for the day is done.

Quiet Sundays?? Movie Sundays?? Family Sundays?? Think about it, we all have a particular pattern to our Sundays and we hate to let go of it. Break your colour routine and go for this Black & White Beauty.

I enjoyed writing this article....each picture was very carefully thought of and put together in place. It was not an easy task! I was very happy with what I could capture...I hope you enjoy reading the same....go for accessories and see how your wardrobe falls in place...accessories bring "happiness" to a dress ;).

Spring Collection

"Spring is the time of plans and projects" - Leo Tolstoy, Anne Karenina.

I simply love colors. Just the splash of it around me lifts my moods in more ways than one. Needless to say, that spring time is one of my favorite designing times of the year. You just "spring" from one color to another and no matter what is the end result, it all just turns out so very beautiful.

A little secret I would share though, I was forever selecting clothes, footwears, upholstery, accessories in earthly colors or colors of black, white and grey. I would go shopping and just go around picking out all things in these shades. I guess this was majorly influenced by working in the NGO sector for so many years. I still can't believe myself, when that voice in my head says, "You are a jewellery designer now...you gotto think colors from now on".

Being a designer in indian stones was never a conscious decision. I once read somewhere, "work grows out of other work, and then there are few eureka moments". I found my eureka moment one fine day :) and I have to thank my family and friends who believed that I could do this. Their belief only strengthened my persuasion for designing.

Very soon I plan to do a couple of courses, furthering my newly found expertise but for now, here are a few pictures of what I am currently working on....

One of my favorite designs - hand painted pendant tulip pendant+peridot+carnelians

The post would be incomplete without this photo. My green plants in full bloom.

My Guardian Angel

An Angel Pendant in Tigerstone

One of my creations that holds special significance to me, is the Angel in stone. It is a pendant. The angels are available in different stones like tiger stone, jade, Lapis Lazuli and so on.

At my exhibitions, I find an increasing number of people admiring this particular design. It is interesting to see the various interpretations an angel can have to people. One lady bought this for her daughter  to carry it in her school bag, each day.

Different stones have different meanings to people. I know someone who regularly purchases designs in rose quartz from me. She believes, it brings a lot of luck in love :).

The pendant in the picture, has been a complete sell-out at each and every exhibition, display, pop-up shop and shows. People say tortoise brings a lot of good luck and is considered very auspicious if one owns a tortoise when combined with stones....something I had no clue about!
Work brings along so many exciting anecdotes, the tortoise stories really enthralled me. I feel happy when people own my creation with the hope of bringing something good, apart from being stylish ofcourse. It's interesting how we look for our Guardian angel in the tiniest of things. In the end, we all lead our lives on a song and a prayer.
On this note, have a lovely weekend you beautiful people.

Topaz - A stone in all it's regal splendour

Topaz makes an ideal gem. The most valuable colors of Topaz are the golden orange-yellow type, called Imperial Topaz, and the dark pinkish-red and orange-red colors. The picture below shows the ornge-yellow Topaz. The stone has been framed in a traditional german-silver frame and strung in two lines of matching topaz stones. Two Lapis Lazuli stones have been utilised to break the monotony of yellow Topaz.

The Topaz pendant can also be strung in contrast colored stones of black, green, royal blue. The flaming orange set against contrast colored stones would make for an interesting piece.

A close look at the pendant will show that the Topaz stone has been cut into half (length-wise)  and the top has been polished to give it a finished look. This raw-edged look gives the entire neckpiece an artistic twist with an eye-catching, hard to miss effect by the person wearing it.

It is my continuous effort to create pieces which are in rare color combinations, designs and those which give that extra edge of style.
